Golf is a very popular sport for young children. There are loads of clubs and competitions available to young people under 17 of all abilities.
If you are interested in starting to play junior golf the best place to start is at a local golf club and tell them you would like to learn to play golf. They will be able to tell you what their club has to offer junior golfers. Most clubs will have memberships, facilities and competitions for junior golfers.
Many clubs offer starter lessons for juniors where you can go and try golf and see if you like it. They will normally provide you with clubs and balls. If you do like it and take it up you will need to buy your own junior equipment. Although they usualy provide equipment for starter lessons most clubs have a strict dress code. No jeans and no trainers, and a good pair of shoes with good support are essential. Ask at the club before you attend your first letter.
