Warm-Up before you play

Irons - Strike the ball solidly and consistently so the lowest spot in the swing's arc is on the target side of the ball. This will make contact with the ball before the ground.

Woods - Good quality contact is a major factor in using woods A good way of practicing getting good contact is to place a tee in the ground with no ball, that sticks out of the ground about 1 to 1 and a half inches. Practice hitting the tee with out touching the ground. Practice until you can consistently clip the tee without even brushing the grass.
